Nils Reinvald

Nils Reinvald (b. 1983, Riga) is an opera and theatre maker working between Berlin and Zurich. His work asks where ritual survives in a secular age, and how meaning arrives in the body before language reaches it. He came to the stage by way of theology and Gestalt psychotherapy. He makes post-dramatic performance, often in dialogue with the writing of Byung-Chul Han.Recent: directed Balkan Opera (HMT Munich, 2022); wrote and co-performed Not Another One, a site-specific ensemble piece on adolescent suicide staged in schools (2023–25).
